Monarchs Continue to Roll, 75-65

Yolanda Griffith scored a season-high 26 points Saturday to help Sacramento defeat Seattle, 75-65, at Sacramento, in a matchup of the top teams in the Western Conference.

The Monarchs have won three in a row and 10 of 11.

Lauren Jackson had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Seattle. The loss prevented the Storm from clinching a playoff berth and dropped Seattle into a second-place tie with Houston with three games remaining.

New York 64, Connecticut 58 -- Cathrine Kraayeveld scored a career-high 14 points, Elena Baranova had 18 rebounds and the Liberty defeated the Sun at Uncasville, Conn.

The win extended the Liberty’s win streak to five. New York moved half a game behind second-place Indiana and needs one more victory to clinch a postseason spot.

Indiana 62, Charlotte 53 -- Tamika Catchings had 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Fever past the Sting at Indianapolis.

Charlotte has lost 18 consecutive road games.
