Culpepper, 3 Others Charged in Boat Party

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper and three Minnesota Viking teammates were charged Thursday with indecent, lewd and disorderly conduct for participating in a bawdy boat party that drew national attention.

Culpepper, currently on injured reserve, Bryant McKinnie, Fred Smoot and Moe Williams were charged with three misdemeanors each for their behavior aboard a boat on Lake Minnetonka, according to court papers.

If convicted, each player faces up to a maximum of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for each count.

“According to NFL rules and union contracts, there is a large difference between allegations and charges and convictions,” Coach Mike Tice said. “So until at any point there is a conviction of some type, if there is, I have no action to take and nothing to say.”

Cincinnati Bengal rookie receiver Chris Henry was arrested on suspicion of traffic violations and possession of marijuana early Thursday but later practiced with the team.

The Bengals said in a statement it wouldn’t take any action until his case goes through the court system.

New Orleans Saint quarterback Aaron Brooks, demoted earlier in the week for poor play, may have played his last down with the team.

“I doubt very seriously I will be a New Orleans Saint again, so I can look forward to moving on,” Brooks said.

New England quarterback Tom Brady jogged on the field at the start of practice, but he remains questionable for Saturday’s game against Tampa Bay with a left shin injury.... Michael Vick, who has bruised ribs, took all the snaps with the Atlanta first-team offense and Coach Jim Mora removed his quarterback from the team’s injury report.... Linebacker Andra Davis signed a five-year contract extension with Cleveland.
