From Times Wire Reports

A five-alarm fire early Friday destroyed much of a two-story office building and injured a firefighter, officials said.

The firefighter, who was not identified, was in stable condition at a hospital with chest pains, said Capt. Stephen Horner, a spokesman for the Santa Ana Fire Department.

The fire began about 3 a.m. at the Olen building in the 600 block of North Park Center, Horner said. It took 125 firefighters two hours to put out the blaze, which involved nearly 40 offices and rendered the building uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, Horner said.
