Holiday closures
Today is New Year’s Eve and Sunday is New Year’s Day. The following schedule will be in effect in observance of the holiday:
Offices: Most city, county and federal offices and courts will be closed until Tuesday.
Mail: Post offices will be open today and mail will be delivered. They will be closed Sunday and Monday. Express Mail will be delivered those days.
Libraries: Most will be closed.
Banks: Most will be open today and will observe Monday as a holiday.
Public transportation: Metrolink will not offer service Sunday; there will be limited service Monday on the San Bernardino and Orange County Lines only. The Orange County Transportation Authority will run on a holiday schedule Sunday.
Trash collection: Collection service in many cities will be delayed during New Year’s week. Cities served by Waste Management of Orange County and Newport Beach will follow regular schedules.
