Another classic duel between Duke and Maryland ended with an increasingly familiar result.

Travis Garrison had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and the Terrapins wore down No. 7 Duke in overtime for a 99-92 victory Saturday night in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at College Park, Md.

John Gilchrist scored 19 points, Chris McCray had 17 and reserve guard Mike Jones had 15 for Maryland, which improved to 15-7 overall, 6-5 in the conference and completed its first regular-season sweep of Duke since 1995.

Including their win in the final of the ACC tournament last March, the Terrapins have won three straight against Duke for the first time since 1982.

The Blue Devils (18-3, 8-3) staggered to the finish without five players, all of whom fouled out late in regulation or in overtime. Shelden Williams had 23 points and 16 rebounds, and Daniel Ewing also scored 23. But both were gone long before the finish.

With Maryland up, 91-90, in overtime, Garrison scored on a follow and McCray made two foul shots for a five-point cushion, and the Blue Devils simply didn’t have enough firepower to mount a comeback.

J.J. Redick scored 21 for Duke, which fell a game behind first-place Wake Forest in the ACC.

No. 3 Kansas 89, Colorado 60 -- Wayne Simien had 25 points and 12 rebounds and sparked a key surge in the second half that carried the Jayhawks (20-1, 10-0) over the Buffaloes (12-10, 4-7) in a Big 12 game at Lawrence, Kan.

Simien was 11 for 11 from the free-throw line -- all in the first half as he tied his school record for most free throws in a half. It was the 31st victory for the Jayhawks in their last 32 games against Colorado and their 22nd straight over the Buffaloes at home.

No. 5 Kentucky 60, Georgia 51 -- Chuck Hayes and Patrick Sparks each scored 14 points and the Wildcats (19-2, 10-0) held off a late run by the undermanned Bulldogs (7-14, 1-10) in a Southeastern Conference game at Lexington, Ky.

No. 8 Syracuse 90, No. 22 Villanova 75 -- Hakim Warrick scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Gerry McNamara had 18 points in a Big East game at Philadelphia as the Orange (22-3, 9-2) handed the Wildcats (14-6, 5-5) their worst loss of the season.

Villanova was a poor 13 for 25 from the free-throw line, well below its 74% average. Trailing by 10 late in the first half, the Wildcats missed five straight from the line and lost a major chance to get back into the game.

No. 9 Louisville 65, South Florida 57 -- Ellis Myles scored 15 points and Taquan Dean and Larry O’Bannon each had 13 for the Cardinals (21-4, 9-2) in a Conference USA victory over the Bulls (10-12, 3-8) at Louisville, Ky.

Oklahoma State shot only 37% from the field in the first half, but the Cowboys improved in the second half to finish at 47%. It was Oklahoma State’s first victory this season by fewer than double digits.
