Huntington Beach Police Shoot, Wound Woman
A woman was wounded Sunday during an exchange of gunfire with Huntington Beach police in an apartment complex laundry room, authorities reported.
The shooting occurred at 10:55 a.m. at a complex in the 5000 block of Pearce Drive after two officers responded to a domestic dispute call, police said.
Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Larry Abbott said the woman was shot after she fired at the officers. No one else was injured.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigates officer-involved shootings in Huntington Beach, Abbott said.
The woman’s name and city of residence were not released Sunday night. She was taken to a local hospital, but her condition was not disclosed by authorities.
