Philadelphia left-hander Randy Wolf may need elbow ligament replacement surgery after an MRI exam revealed ligament damage in his pitching elbow.

Wolf was examined Tuesday by team physician Michael Ciccotti, who recommended the operation. Wolf plans to seek a second and possibly third opinion before making a decision on surgery. Wolf was put on the 15-day disabled list Monday.
