How L.A. Could Elect a Great Mayor

Share

I was an undecided twenty-something voter as we approached the city election, and I can make some guesses as to why we keep electing “dull mayors” (“You Get What You Vote For,” by Sara Catania, Feb. 27). First, various media outlets only focus on the front-runners or career politicians, when there are actually more candidates out there who should be endorsed. Then there would be more enthusiastic and positive leaders of this once-great city. Second, we should put a legitimate cap on how much funding campaigns receive and prohibit funds from corporate or union sponsors.

This would be truly revolutionary for people like me who are sick of hearing the same nonsense and balderdash from front-runners. Then again, all of this makes too much sense. That’s why I didn’t run.
