From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Police arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the killings earlier this month of a Highland liquor store owner and a clerk but continued to search for another suspect.

The San Bernardino teenage boy is believed to be “the one who fired the shots” in the March 16 slayings, sheriff’s spokesman Chip Patterson said after the suspect’s arrest Saturday.

Surveillance video showed that Cee Vee’s liquor store owner Steven Hall, 53, and clerk Brian Gregorio, 25, were killed after they followed the directions of the robbers, Patterson said.

Before the shootings, one of the assailants collected several hundred dollars and lottery tickets from the victims, officials said.

The 17-year-old suspect was expected to be arraigned Tuesday on robbery and murder charges.

Detectives are still seeking another man, the brother of the suspected shooter.

Authorities arrested Darwin Lamont Richardson, 19, of Corona on Wednesday and said he drove the getaway car.
