1 Man Killed, 2 Injured in 2 Shooting Incidents

One man was killed and two others were wounded in two separate shootings Sunday afternoon, Los Angeles police said.

The first shooting occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Wilshire Boulevard, where two young men in a car were shot by at least one person in a black older-model sedan, said Lt. Armando Perez. The victims, whose identities were not released, were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in serious but stable condition.

The second shooting occurred about 10 minutes later about three miles away in the 4800 block of West 18th Street, near Longwood Avenue. Police found a man in his early 20s who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The circumstances of the shooting were unclear.
