Paul Martinez made a 19-yard field goal with one second left to give No. 11 Oregon a 34-31 victory over Washington State in a Pacific 10 Conference game Saturday night at Pullman, Wash.

The Ducks (9-1, 6-1) scored three straight touchdowns in the third quarter to come back from an 11-point deficit, before the Cougars (3-7, 0-7) came back to tie the score late in the fourth.

Duck quarterbacks Dennis Dixon and Brady Leaf combined for 296 yards passing and two touchdowns as Oregon rolled up 444 yards of offense, preserving hopes for bowl championship series consideration.

Washington State’s Jerome Harrison carried 28 times for 143 yards, scoring touchdowns on a 28-yard run and a 34-yard pass from Alex Brink. Harrison set a Pac-10 record with 13 consecutive 100-yard games, passing J.J. Arrington of California with 12.

Brink threw three touchdown passes, completing 22 of 33 attempts for 283 yards.

Washington 38, Arizona 14 -- James Sims rushed for a career-high 200 yards in 30 carries and the Huskies (2-8, 1-6) ended a 14-game conference losing streak with a victory over turnover-plagued Wildcats (3-7, 2-5) at Tucson.

Washington had not won a conference game since beating Washington State in the finale of the 2003 season. Its only other victory under first-year Coach Ty Willingham came seven games ago against Idaho.

But the Huskies rolled for 333 yards rushing and took advantage of Arizona freshman quarterback Willie Tuitama, who had three passes intercepted and fumbled the ball away twice.

Roy Lewis returned the last interception 42 yards for a touchdown to put Washington ahead, 38-14, with 7:20 to play.

Stanford 20, Oregon State 17 -- Trent Edwards threw two touchdown passes to Justin McCullum and the Cardinal (5-4, 4-3) moved a step closer to bowl eligibility with a victory over the Beavers (5-5, 3-4) at Corvallis, Ore.

Edwards, who injured his thumb late in the third quarter and was replaced by T.C. Ostrander, completed 16 of 28 passes for 196 yards. McCullum had seven catches for 119 yards.

Oregon State lost quarterback Matt Moore to what appeared to be a right knee injury in the second quarter, and kicker Alexis Serna missed three field-goal attempts after having made six the week before.

Moore completed five of 14 passes for 94 yards and a score before being replaced by Ryan Gunderson, who was 11 of 26 for 156 yards.
