From Times Staff and Wire Reports

An inmate escaped Sunday from minimum-security Prado Conservation Camp, the second escape this year, officials said.

David Miller, 49, of Los Angeles was last seen about 10:30 a.m. at the 88-man facility, said Terry Thornton of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Bloodhounds tracked Miller’s scent to a 6-foot fence topped with three strands of razor wire about 25 feet from an inmate dormitory.

Miller, convicted of forgery, theft and embezzlement of an elder, had been at Prado since March 2002 and was due for parole in 2008, Thornton said.

In August, Brian Moore escaped. He remains at large.
