Busy Baylor Beats Indiana, 74-62

A tired Baylor team was still good enough to handle rested Indiana.

Sophia Young had 19 points and 16 rebounds Saturday as the sixth-ranked and defending NCAA champions, playing their third game in seven days, beat the Hoosiers, 74-62, for their 23rd straight victory.

The Bears had played UCLA in Waco, Texas, on Friday night and arrived in Bloomington about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

No. 11 Stanford 69, Long Island 28 -- Brooke Smith had 15 points for the Cardinal in the semifinals of the Subway Classic tournament at Minneapolis. Stanford will play Minnesota today.

No. 16 Minnesota 80, San Francisco 62 -- Natasha Williams had 26 points to spark the Gophers in the Subway Classic.

No. 17 Vanderbilt 65, Texas A&M; Corpus Christi 51 -- The Islanders took their only lead with 12 minutes left before the visiting Commodores went on a 14-0 run.

No. 18 DePaul 88, Nevada Las Vegas 72 -- The Blue Demons won the DePaul Invitational tournament at Chicago.

No. 21 Temple 66, Drexel 54 -- Ten players scored for the Owls, led by Candice Dupree’s 21 points at Philadelphia.

No. 22 Utah 83, Jacksonville St. 46 -- The Utes had a 16-0 run midway through the first half at Salt Lake City.
