Tennessee Rallies Past Maryland

Candace Parker and Alexis Hornbuckle each scored 19 points and No. 2-ranked Tennessee (5-0) rallied past No. 10 Maryland, 80-75, Saturday in the Paradise Jam at Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Crystal Langhorne had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Maryland (4-1).

No. 1 Duke 110, Arkansas State 56 -- Lindsey Harding and Laura Kurz each scored 19 points at Durham, N.C., to lead the Blue Devils (4-0) into the championship game of the Duke Women’s Classic.

No. 3 Louisiana State 74, Texas A&M; Corpus Christi 45 -- Seimone Augustus finished with 19 points, and the Tigers (4-0) took a 23-5 lead midway through the first half to pull away from the Islanders (0-3) and win the Miami Thanksgiving Classic.

No. 4 Ohio State 94, Nicholls State 35 -- Jessica Davenport scored 18 points for the Buckeyes (2-0), who scored 30 points off of 18 turnovers by the Colonels (0-3) to win in the first round of their tournament.

No. 5 Baylor 75, California 58 -- Sophia Young had 12 points and 15 rebounds in the Caribbean Classic at Cancun, Mexico, and Baylor (5-0) extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 25 games.

No. 6 Rutgers 66, North Carolina State 56 -- Cappie Pondexter had 24 points and the Scarlet Knights (2-0) held off a late rally by the Wolfpack (2-2) to win the Freeport (Bahamas) Division of the Junkanoo Jam.

No. 7 North Carolina 77, Texas Christian 54 -- Ivory Latta had 18 points and the Tar Heels (4-0) made 11 three-point shots in the Caribbean Classic.

No. 9 Michigan State 60, Gonzaga 45 -- Victoria Lucas-Perry had 15 points to lead the Spartans (3-2) in the Paradise Jam at Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands.

No. 12 Minnesota 69, Virginia 64 -- Liz Podominick had 18 points and eight rebounds and the Golden Gophers (4-0) rallied in the final of the Paradise Jam.

No. 16 Arizona State 70, Mississippi State 48 -- Jill Noel scored 15 points for the Sun Devils (4-1) in the Caribbean Classic.

No. 17 DePaul 84, Texas A&M; 71 -- Khara Smith had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Blue Demons (4-0) into the title game of the Rainbow Wahine Classic at Honolulu.

No. 18 Texas 59, George Washington 54 -- Freshman Erika Arriaran scored 15 points to help the Longhorns (3-1) win the Lucaya Division title in the Junkanoo Jam.

No. 19 Purdue 56, South Carolina 48 -- Katie Gearlds had 18 points for Purdue (2-1), which trailed the Gamecocks (2-2) midway through the second half in the Junkanoo Jam.

No. 20 Vanderbilt 72, Colgate 33 -- Carla Thomas scored 24 points and the Commodores (5-1) took advantage of 20 consecutive missed shots by Colgate (1-3) to win the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving tournament.

No. 22 Oklahoma 53, San Francisco 51 -- Leah Rush scored 17 points and the Sooners (5-1) won the Odwalla Classic at San Francisco (1-3).

No. 23 Utah 66, Arizona 63 -- Kim Smith had 19 points at Tucson and the Utes (2-1) rallied from a seven-point deficit.

No. 25 New Mexico 56, Oklahoma State 52 -- Dionne Marsh made four free throws in the last 37 seconds and the Lobos (5-1) won their Thanksgiving tournament.
