Memphis quarterback Will Hudgens suffered a broken right leg in last weekend’s game at Tulsa, three weeks after the Tigers’ original starter broke his leg in the opener.

Hudgens broke his fibula and damaged a ligament late in the fourth quarter in the 37-31 overtime loss Saturday night, the team said. He was being evaluated Monday. Hudgens became the starter after Patrick Byrne broke his right fibula and tibia in the Tigers’ first series against Mississippi on Sept. 5.

Southern Utah’s game at McNeese State on Saturday has been postponed indefinitely because of Hurricane Rita. The NCAA Division I-AA schools are scheduled to be off Oct. 8, which could be a possible new date if the schools can agree on a site. McNeese State is in Lake Charles, La., which was directly in the path of the storm when it hit Saturday. Floodwaters were receding Monday.
