Update -- The Avengers, who suffered a disappointing loss at Arizona on March 24, are in jeopardy of falling out of the playoff race. They trail Western Division leader Arizona by two games and are one game behind the Gladiators, whom they’ll face twice over the second half of the season. Rookie Sonny Cumbie has played well for the Avengers, throwing for 1,421 yards and 24 touchdowns with only three passes intercepted. Two-way standout Kevin Ingram leads the Avengers with 62 catches for 762 yards and 17 touchdowns, and also has made 24 tackles and two interceptions. But the Avengers have struggled with consistency, ranking 17th in the league in scoring defense and 13th in scoring. Las Vegas also starts a rookie quarterback in Jason Fife, who has passed for 1,066 yards and 20 touchdowns with six interceptions. The Gladiators have won three of their last four games.
