Allen Moves Up Three-Point List

Ray Allen scored 38 points and moved into second place on the all-time three-pointers list in the Seattle SuperSonics’ 121-108 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night at Portland, Ore.

Juan Dixon matched his season high with 28 points, and Theo Ratliff had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who couldn’t avenge a 122-83 loss to the SuperSonics on Sunday in Seattle.

Chris Wilcox had 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Seattle, which won three games in a row for the first time since Dec. 4.

Allen passed former SuperSonic Dale Ellis on the three-point list, making the 1,720th of his career in the second quarter. A 10-year veteran, Allen is still more than 800 three-pointers short of all-time leader Reggie Miller.

Dallas 92, San Antonio 86 -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points on the road for the Mavericks, who cut the Spurs’ lead to one game in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. Both teams have six games left.

The Mavericks and Spurs split the season series, which is the first tiebreaker. Dallas has a half-game lead in the second tiebreaker, which is record in the Southwest Division.

Orlando 89, Detroit 87 -- Jameer Nelson made two last-minute shots, the second a fadeaway jumper with 6.5 seconds left, at home for the Magic.

Tony Delk missed two free throws with his Pistons down by two with three seconds left. Antonio McDyess rebounded and put up a 12-foot airball, which Dwight Howard grabbed as time expired.

Houston 100, Golden State 93 -- Yao Ming had 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets, who ended a three-game road losing streak. Jason Richardson scored 29 points for the Warriors, who lost their seventh straight.

Memphis 100, Milwaukee 90 -- Pau Gasol had 33 points and 14 rebounds, and Chucky Atkins made two key three-pointers in the fourth quarter at Memphis, Tenn., for the Grizzlies, who swept their three-game homestand.

New York 98, Indiana 96 -- Jamal Crawford made his second game-winning basket in three nights, making a jump shot with 0.5 of a second left to lift the Knicks. The Pacers have lost seven straight road games.

Boston 109, Philadelphia 99 -- Paul Pierce had 33 points and 12 rebounds, and Gerald Green scored a career-high 17 points for the visiting Celtics. Allen Iverson scored 37 points for the 76ers, who have lost 13 of their last 17 games.

Atlanta 114, Washington 101 -- Josh Smith scored 25 points and made a late three-pointer to help the host Hawks end an eight-game losing streak against the Wizards.

Joe Johnson scored 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for the Hawks, seven of whom scored in double figures.

Utah 103, Minnesota 95 -- Carlos Boozer had 30 points and nine rebounds on the road for the Jazz.

Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, who had 14 points and 13 rebounds, sat the second and fourth quarters because of Coach Dwane Casey’s pledge to play his younger players more down the stretch of another lost season.

New Orleans 95, Toronto 89 -- David West scored 19 points and Chris Paul had 16, including a jump shot in the final minute, for the Hornets at Oklahoma City.

Shaquille O’Neal was fined $15,000 for criticizing referees and an NBA senior vice president after the Miami center was for called for five fouls in the Heat’s loss to New Jersey on Sunday.
