Heroes who defied the flames
Re “Brush Fire Spreads Quickly, Aug. 29
The fire that raged through Sand Canyon could have been devastating for all of the residents. However, we were saved yet again by the talent, bravery, skill and devotion of the firefighters who doggedly fought the blaze.
My neighbor told me that he was watching the fire race down the hill toward his home. The firefighters assured him that they would not allow any home to be lost.
They fulfilled their vow, and we residents are grateful and proud of their efforts.
