Hot-Shooting UCLA Routs Arizona, 90-64

Noelle Quinn led a hot-shooting UCLA team with 26 points to help bring the Bruins to a 90-64 victory over Arizona on Saturday in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Tucson.

UCLA shot 48% from the field in the first half and never seemed to cool off. The Bruins made 14 of their first 19 shots in the second half, capped by Quinn’s three-point play for a 77-43 lead with 10:28 left.

The Bruins shot 62% in the second half and a season-high 55% for the game. Arizona made 42% of its shots but committed 26 turnovers.

The Bruins (13-9, 8-5) also received 20 points from Lisa Willis. Lindsey Pluimer and Nikki Blue had 16 and 13 points.

Natalie Jones led Arizona (7-16, 3-10) with 22 points, Kelsey Burns had 15 and Ashley Whisonant scored 12.

No. 18 Arizona State 79, USC 72 -- Emily Westerberg matched her career high with 26 points, and Amy Denson had 16 for the Sun Devils (18-5, 9-4) in a victory over the Trojans (14-8, 8-5) at Tempe, Ariz.

Arizona State took sole possession of second place in the Pac-10 with the victory.

Westerberg scored eight points in a 17-6 run that put the Sun Devils ahead, 65-54.

Eshaya Murphy had 20 points and 12 rebounds for USC, which had four players in double figures. Meghan Gnekow and Camille Lenoir had 14 points apiece, and Chloe Kerr had 10 points.
