Clipper All-Star forward Elton Brand, who tied a career high with 44 points in Friday’s 91-87 victory over Memphis, is having the best year statistically of his seven-year career. He is averaging more than 5 1/2 points per game better than his previous high season. Brand also was named to the All-Star team in the 2000-01 season and scored six points and had 10 rebounds in 19 minutes in the All-Star game. (Stats are through Sunday).
