Jaromir Jagr, the NHL’s leading scorer, was assisted off the ice with a bloody forehead after being slammed into the boards, and the Czech Republic suffered a 4-2 loss Saturday that kept Finland as one of two unbeaten teams in the tournament.

Czech Coach Alois Hadamczik said Jagr did not suffer a concussion while being driven into the boards by Finland’s Jarkko Ruutu in the second period, resulting in Ruutu’s ejection.

Jagr’s status is uncertain, but Hadamczik said he could play again as early as today.

Finland (3-0) trailed, 1-0, but secured a spot in the eight-team quarterfinals by rallying on two goals by Jere Lehtinen.

Sweden 6, Latvia 1 -- Despite being eased into the lineup because of a slow-healing groin injury, Peter Forsberg set up two goals in his first game of the tournament. Samuel Pahlsson and P.J. Axelsson were the beneficiaries of Forsberg’s assists.

Italy 3, Germany 3 -- Christian Borgatello scored short-handed with 1:32 left to put the host country on the brink of victory, but Germany’s Marcel Goc answered 15 seconds later to force a tie that probably means neither team will advance out of the group-play round.

Russia 1, Kazakhstan 0 -- Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves in his second consecutive shutout and Alexander Kharitonov scored midway through the second period.
