Rick Nash’s shootout goal gave the Columbus Blue Jackets a 4-3 victory over St. Louis on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio, and stretched the Blues’ losing streak to nine.

Columbus improved to 4-2 in shootouts. The Blues fell to 1-4 and lost for the second consecutive night in the NHL’s new tiebreaker.

It was announced earlier in the day that Blue Jacket defenseman Bryan Berard was suspended from international competition for two years after failing a drug test for a banned steroid.

“No question, I’m embarrassed about it,” Berard said. “There’s nothing I can do about it now, other than accepting what I’ve done. We’ll learn from it, it was a mistake and it won’t happen again.”

Tampa Bay 6, Dallas 3 -- Brad Richards’ short-handed goal triggered Tampa Bay’s four-goal, first-period flurry against Marty Turco in Dallas.

The Lightning scored on four of its first six shots against Turco, who was pulled at 12:35 in favor of Johan Hedberg. Turco, who sat out the previous game because of a groin injury, was removed for the third time in six starts. He has given up eight goals in the last 21 shots.

Minnesota 4, Chicago 1 -- Kurtis Foster had a goal and assist, giving the first-year defenseman nine goals. Minnesota won two in a row to end a seven-game homestand 3-4.
