Kelly Mac Seeks Another Victory on Main Track

Kelly Mac, with a win and two seconds in three two-turn races on dirt, will try for a second victory on the dirt when she races nine other females in the seventh today at Hollywood Park.

The Thunder Gulch mare, owned by Ernie Moody’s Mercedes Stable LLC and trained by Darrell Vienna, will be making her first start since a runner-up effort to Rebel Creek in an allowance on May 15.

Martin Pedroza, who has been aboard for Kelly Mac’s last two starts, has the mount again today in the $51,000 optional claimer at 1 1/16 miles.

The hottest horse in the field is Neon Princess, a 3-year-old daughter of Royal Anthem who has won two in a row for trainer Paddy Gallagher.

The others scheduled to run are Lake Marina, a maiden winner June 15; Awesome Beginning, Home Ice, Yodeladytoo, who will make her debut for trainer Bill Spawr after being claimed for $50,000 out of a win on May 21; The Wages Of Sin, She’s Noble, Carisolo and Donerella.

Race of the day: Suaviter, who has won two straight and four of seven on the Arlington Park turf course, will try to keep her roll going in the eighth race today. Chris Emigh will ride the 5-year-old Roar mare in the $37,000 optional claimer at about 1 1/8 miles.

One for the road: In The Mesh should improve in his second start after a lengthy layoff in the sixth race today at Belmont Park. Garrett Gomez will ride the 3-year-old Lycius gelding for Offbroadway Stable and trainer Rick Violette Jr. in the $35,000 maiden claimer for New York-breds at six furlongs.

Exotically speaking: An early pick four using Weekend Tiger, Souvenir Evening and Celtic Fable in the first, Ella Enchanted in the second, Likely A Star and Spenditallbaby in the third, and Lemaire, Nasty Mood and Dalat in the fourth.
