Oral Roberts Ends 22-Year Drought

Ken Tutt scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half, Larry Owens had a career-high 24 points and Oral Roberts earned its first NCAA tournament berth in 22 years with an 85-72 victory over Chicago State in the Mid-Continent Conference title game Tuesday night at Tulsa, Okla.

The top-seeded Golden Eagles (21-11) pushed ahead with an 18-0 run early in the second half.

Chicago State (11-19) tried to counter with a pressing, man-to-man defense, but it simply led to open shots for the Golden Eagles once they got into the frontcourt.

South Alabama 95, Western Kentucky 70 -- Richard Law scored 22 points to help the Jaguars win the Sun Belt Conference tournament title at Murfreesboro, Tenn., and earn their first NCAA tournament berth since 1998.

The Jaguars (24-6) are having their best season since 1980-81, when they finished 25-6. They have won eight games in a row and 11 of 12.

The Hilltoppers (23-7) had won the last two and four of the previous six meetings between the teams.

Wisconsin Milwaukee 87, Butler 71 -- Boo Davis scored 18 points at Milwaukee to help the Panthers earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with their third Horizon League tournament title in four years.

The Panthers (21-8) outscored Butler, 56-24, in the paint and outrebounded the Bulldogs, 40-24.

Brandon Polk had 27 points for the Bulldogs (19-12).
