Pablo Ozuna hit his first major league home run to tie the score with two out in the ninth inning and then scored the winning run in the 11th on Juan Uribe’s single Wednesday night as the White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners, 6-5, at Chicago for their 18th victory in their last 22 games.

Ozuna’s first home run in 334 major league at-bats spoiled a four-run rally by the Mariners in the eighth that had given them a 5-4 lead.

Bobby Jenks (1-0) got the win after escaping a jam in the 11th. The Mariners had first and third after a single, forceout and error on Paul Konerko, but Joe Crede made a nice play and strong throw on speedy Willie Bloomquist’s grounder to end the inning.

Crede also had a grand slam.

Toronto 7, Boston 6 -- Russ Adams ended an 0-for-14 slump with a tiebreaking double in the ninth inning against previously perfect Jonathan Papelbon to lift the visiting Blue Jays.

Papelbon (0-1) gave up his first run in 21 1/3 innings, dating to Sept. 19.

New York 4, Tampa Bay 2 -- Alex Rodriguez ended an 0-for-12 skid with a run-scoring single in the 10th inning to lift the Yankees at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Cleveland 14, Oakland 3 -- Casey Blake hit a three-run homer, and Travis Hafner had four runs batted in at Oakland to end the Athletics’ five-game winning streak.

Texas 2, Baltimore 1 -- Mark DeRosa homered with one out in the 12th inning against John Halama (1-1) to lift the Rangers at Arlington, Texas.

Minnesota 6, Kansas City 1 -- Brad Radke (3-3) gave up four hits in seven innings at Minneapolis to send the Royals to 0-12 on the road, one shy of the record for most consecutive road losses to start a season.
