Manny Malhotra scored in the 11th shootout round to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 5-4 victory over the host Calgary Flames on Friday night.

After Columbus goaltender Pascal Leclaire stopped Chuck Kobasew’s shot, Malhotra sent a hard wrist shot between Jamie McLennan’s leg pads.

It was the second-longest shootout this season. The New York Rangers beat Philadelphia in the 13th round on Oct. 7.

The Flames trailed, 3-1, after the first period but scored the next three goals to take the lead for the first time. Columbus tied it at 4-4 on David Vyborny’s power-play goal with 7:09 left.

Atlanta 4, Washington 3 -- Former Duck Steve Rucchin’s go-ahead goal 27 seconds into the third period gave the visiting Thrashers the victory.

Atlanta trailed, 2-0, halfway through the second period, but scored three goals in less than 3 1/2 minutes.

Dallas 3, Edmonton 2 -- Trevor Daley’s second-period goal lifted the Stars past the Oilers at Edmonton, Canada.

The Oilers’ Ales Hemsky appeared to score the tying goal with four seconds left, but it was disallowed because of a hand pass off of the faceoff.
