Update -- The Kings’ last visit to Colorado resulted in a 6-1 loss, with the Avalanche scoring three goals with a two-man advantage. Goaltender Dan Cloutier was torched in that game. Mathieu Garon, his backup, fared no better in Phoenix on Saturday. He was yanked after giving up five goals in the 6-4 loss. The Kings placed forwards Derek Armstrong (collar bone bruise) and Jeff Cowan (chest injury) on injured reserve and recalled forwards Noah Clarke and Tim Jackman from Manchester, their American Hockey League team in New Hampshire. Avalanche defenseman Jordan Leopold, rehabilitating from hernia surgery, skated with the team this week, but is not ready to return to the lineup. Former King George Parros, claimed off waivers on Oct. 3, played his second game for the Avalanche on Saturday.
