Utah’s big rally beats Sacramento

The Utah Jazz was not to be denied.

Carlos Boozer had 32 points and 13 rebounds to help Utah rally from a 21-point deficit to a 110-101 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night at Sacramento.

Pro basketball: An article in the Sports section on Thursday said the Atlanta Hawks’ loss to Detroit on Wednesday ended a three-game winning streak. In fact, that loss was the Hawks’ fourth in a row.

It was Utah’s seventh consecutive victory.

Utah continually went inside to Boozer, who helped the Jazz outscore the Kings 39-17 in the fourth quarter.

Mehmet Okur put Utah ahead for good with a three-point basket for a 101-99 lead with 1:45 left. Boozer followed with a dunk and completed a three-point play to put the Jazz ahead by five with 1:02 to go.

Deron Williams had 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the Jazz (11-1), which has the best record in the NBA and is off to the best start in team history.

Kevin Martin had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Kings, who have lost three in a row.

Phoenix 92, New Orleans 83 -- Steve Nash scored 24 points at Phoenix and helped lead the Suns to their fourth victory in five games.

The Hornets made nine of 18 shots in the first quarter but only 25 of their final 67. New Orleans had only seven assists, matching a team low and setting a Phoenix team mark for the fewest given up.

Houston 86, Washington 82 -- Yao Ming had 25 points and 14 rebounds, Tracy McGrady scored 13 points and the Rockets survived another fourth-quarter meltdown at Houston.

Luther Head made three free throws in the final three seconds and scored 12 for the Rockets, who overcame 22 turnovers to drop Washington to 0-6 on the road.

Milwaukee 98, Philadelphia 94 -- Michael Redd scored 11 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter, and the Bucks overcame Andre Iguodala’s triple-double and won at Milwaukee.

Allen Iverson (abscessed wisdom tooth) and fellow All-Star Chris Webber (sore back) didn’t make the trip. The Bucks went without starting point guard Mo Williams (elbow bruise).

Portland 100, New Jersey 97 -- Zach Randolph scored 25 points and the Trail Blazers rallied to defeat the Nets at Portland, Ore. Vince Carter had 35 points for New Jersey, which has lost three in a row.

Denver 115, Golden State 112 -- Carmelo Anthony had 33 points and the Nuggets won at Oakland. It was Denver’s third victory in a row.

San Antonio 106, Miami 86 -- Tim Duncan scored 19 points, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili each had 17 and the Spurs rolled past the Heat in San Antonio.

Detroit 103, Atlanta 98 -- Chauncey Billups had 24 points and 10 assists at Auburn Hills, Mich., and the Pistons ended the Hawks’ three-game winning streak.

Orlando 96, Indiana 91 -- Jameer Nelson scored 22 points, Dwight Howard had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and the Magic held on for the win at Orlando, Fla.

Toronto 95, Cleveland 87 -- Chris Bosh had 25 points and 14 rebounds, and the Raptors ended a six-game losing streak at Toronto. LeBron James had 30 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who are 0-3 in the second game of back-to-backs.

Charlotte 92, Boston 83 -- Adam Morrison broke out of his shooting slump to score 26 points, and the Bobcats pulled away late to win at Charlotte, N.C.

Minnesota 107, New York 89 -- The Timberwolves limited the Knicks to only four fastbreak points through three quarters and cruised to the victory at Minneapolis.
