Five in race coming off wins

Five of the eight 2-year-olds entered in the $60,000 Pinjara today at Santa Anita have something in common.

Sevengoldnmissiles, Edwardian, Unusual Suspect, Warning Zone and Lord Elijah all enter the race at one mile on the turf off victories.

Warning Zone, trained by John Sadler, has not raced since defeating maidens by a head Aug. 23.

Corey Nakatani will ride Warning Zone, who will race with blinkers for the first time.

Edwardian, also trained by Sadler, broke his maiden in his grass debut, winning by a neck Sept. 30 under Garrett Gomez, who has the mount again this afternoon.

Sevengoldnmissiles will make his first start for trainer Gary Mandella after winning a main track sprint in his debut at Arlington Park on June 3.

Lord Elijah beat maidens at Fairplex in his latest, on Sept. 24, and Unusual Suspect has been away since beating maidens Aug. 24 at Del Mar.

Race of the day: Audacious Chloe, who won a stakes at Monmouth Park by four lengths in her debut on grass Aug. 20, will seek another turf win in the $125,000 Jessamine today at Keeneland.

John Velazquez will ride the 2-year-old for trainer Todd Pletcher in the nine-horse race at 1 1/16 miles.

One for the road: Jack Atax looks like a single to begin the late pick four at Aqueduct based on his strong second-place effort in his bow Sept. 16.

Edgar Prado will ride the first-time Lasix user for trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. in the $41,000 New York-bred maiden race at seven furlongs.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using Awesome Gem, Armenian Summer and Nascar Guy in the sixth, Warning Zone, Edwardian, Varsity Blues and Unusual Suspect in the seventh and No Where Man in the eighth.
