Where’s the Good News for Community Colleges?
Let me see if I have this straight. Coverage of community colleges in The Times’ sports section has shrunk to the point that our level is fortunate to even get an agate line or two listing our state championship scores in the paper.
Yet you have 50 inches to devote to Paul Pringle’s hit piece [“Two-Year Schools Run Into Troubles,” Aug. 24], painting our level’s administrators and coaches -- and the 25,000 athletes who compete in intercollegiate athletics on our level yearly -- with a wide brush intimating the huge majority is guilty of the sins of a few.
