Wilderness scoured for missing woman
Searchers continued to scour a swath of wilderness for an 80-year-old woman with a history of memory loss who has been missing since Monday.
About 100 searchers were joined by dog teams and helicopters in the hunt for Ottorrina Bonaventura, an experienced hiker who became separated from her group and failed to return to Vogelsand High Sierra Camp.
Bonaventura is described as 5 feet tall, with dyed blond hair and brown eyes.
The hunt is focusing on an area east of Merced Lake and south of Tuolumne Meadows. Park officials are asking anyone who has been hiking in that area to contact them.
