Amid an NFL spokesman’s report Monday that the league has not made a decision on whether to suspend Michael Vick for the season, two more defendants in the dogfighting operation that allegedly took place on the Atlanta Falcons quarterback’s property are planning to enter plea agreements.

The two defendants’ decisions would make Vick the lone defendant to plead not guilty.

Purnell Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Quanis Phillips, 28, of Atlanta have scheduled hearings for Thursday and Friday.

Tony Taylor, 34, of Hampton, Ga., became a government witness on July 30, four days after he and the other three had originally entered not guilty pleas.

Meanwhile, an NFL spokesman said the league is still gathering facts in the Vick case.

“The commissioner has not made any decision,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

Aiello’s comment came amid a report by Yahoo.com, citing two anonymous sources, that the league “likely will announce this week or next” the season-long suspension of Vick.

Suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones sees himself as an innocent bystander in the Las Vegas strip club fight that led to a triple shooting and left one man paralyzed, and he expects to be vindicated.

“And I’ll tell you, ‘I told you so,’ ” Jones said in an interview scheduled to air tonight on HBO’s “Real Sports.”

Las Vegas police identified the Titans cornerback as the “inciter” of the fight about 5 a.m. on Feb. 19 at the Minxx Gentlemen’s Club, and he was indicted in June on two counts of coercion.

Jones told interviewer Bryant Gumbel that he never hit a stripper in the club or threatened to kill anyone.

Asked why anyone would lie, Jones said, “I guess I’m the big fish in the little pond.”

Two Arizona Cardinals starters suffered potential season-ending injuries in Saturday’s loss to Oakland. Offensive right tackle Oliver Ross (torn triceps tendon) and outside linebacker Chike Okeafor (torn biceps tendon) both might need surgery. . . . San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Jamal Williams sprained a right foot in Sunday’s exhibition loss to Seattle and is listed as day to day. . . . New York Jets running back Thomas Jones has a strained right calf muscle and hopes to return for the team’s opener, his agent said.

The Baltimore Ravens opened with a 29-3 exhibition victory over the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. “Really, really solid start. The things I’m most pleased about: One, no injuries. No. 2, no turnovers and only three penalties,” Ravens Coach Brian Billick said. . . . San Francisco’s Alex Smith and Denver’s Jay Cutler both looked ready to shoulder more quarterback responsibility during the Broncos’ 17-13 victory over the 49ers at San Francisco. In limited action, Cutler led a 67-yard scoring drive, and Smith completed four of five passes for 58 yards.

Oakland Raiders Coach Lane Kiffin was hospitalized because of a viral infection and might not return to the team until later this week. Kiffin woke up “feeling under the weather,” said offensive coordinator Greg Knapp. “[It’s] something he’s been fighting for the last two or three days.”
