Man struck, killed walking on 405
A 21-year-old Bakersfield man was struck and killed Monday morning on the San Diego Freeway after he crashed his car and tried to cross the roadway on foot, the California Highway Patrol said.
The man, whose name has not been released, crashed into the center divider on the 405 near the Seal Beach Boulevard overpass, according to a report by CHP Officer T. Steaffens.
He was struck about 1 a.m. as he attempted to walk across the southbound lanes. Orange County paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene at 1:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
