Ben Wallace got the reaction he wanted, not the result.

Chris Webber made a putback with 2.2 seconds left and matched a season high with 21 points to lift the Detroit Pistons to a 95-93 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday at Auburn Hills, Mich., after trailing by 16 points in the third quarter.

In his first game at the Palace since leaving to play for Chicago, Wallace was greeted by a mix of boos and cheers when he was introduced, then was booed virtually every time he touched the ball.

“I know how crazy the Palace fans can get, so I knew they could do better than that,” said Wallace, who finished with six points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. “I wanted to see how loud they would boo.”

The fans were cheering after Webber’s basket gave Detroit its fourth straight win and 15th in 18 games with him in the starting lineup.

Cleveland center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, playing his first game since his wife went into pre-term labor and delivered stillborn twins this month, had eight points and nine rebounds.

Wade, injured Wednesday at Houston, will seek a second opinion this week before deciding whether to rehabilitate his dislocated left shoulder or have season-ending surgery.
