Naked man stops traffic on highway
Officers chased a naked man down the center divider of Highway 101 early Tuesday after reports that his jaunt stopped traffic.
The unidentified man had been awaiting an evaluation for possible psychiatric issues when he walked away from a nearby hospital.
The California Highway Patrol, sheriff’s deputies, police and fire and ambulance crews were summoned to the scene, and CHP officers pulled ahead of southbound traffic, bringing it to a halt so the man wouldn’t be struck.
Several officers chased him along the median strip, where they caught him. He was returned to the hospital.
