What are the odds that Prince will trip and fall onstage during Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show? Or the odds he will be fined for indecent exposure during his performance?

It’s 10 to 1 for the former and 5 to 1 for the latter, according to odds posted by BetUS.com.

Proposition bets run wild every year for the Super Bowl, and the wildest posted by BetUS.com include: The player scoring the game’s first touchdown will celebrate by hugging the goal post (15 to 1), writing his initials on the ball (20 to 1), using an a real or imaginary cellphone (25 to 1) or continuing to run all the way into the dressing room (150 to 1).

* During his halftime performance Prince will rip his pants (10 to 1), announce he’s adopted a new name (10 to 1), announce he’s running for president (30 to 1), or have his hair fall out (100 to 1).

* The color of the sports drink will be yellowish (12 to 10), reddish (5 to 2), bluish (7 to 2) or orange (3 to 1).

Not posted, perhaps because it is considered a sure bet: What will be the mood of the Chicago Bears after the final whistle?

Bluish.

He’s a little greenish

Another sure bet: that Eli Manning is going to feel a little envious of big brother Peyton this week in Miami.

“I’m going to enjoy the time, and when it comes time for next year I’ll know what the feeling is,” Manning told the Associated Press. “I know I won’t want to be shaking hands with people congratulating me about Peyton. I’ll want to be in the hotel studying film and getting ready to prepare to play for the championship.”

Before he goes that far, he might want to think about handing out fliers that read: “Wanted: New running back, since the only one good enough to keep me in the starting lineup just retired.”

Trivia question

What is the biggest point spread for a Super Bowl betting line?

*

He’s a little excited

How much pressure is on Eli’s brother to win this Super Bowl?

Pressure? What pressure, says Reggie Miller, formerly of the Indiana Pacers and still a fan of the football team from Indianapolis.

“All the pressure is on Sexy Rexy,” Miller said on Dan Patrick’s ESPN Radio show, referring to Bears quarterback Rex Grossman. “I don’t think they have enough offense.

“All the pressure is off Peyton, because his arch-nemesis, his Lex Luthor, his kryptonite, has been Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. They have solved that.

“Now in South Beach, on a neutral site, in warm weather, you are not going to stop Reggie Wayne and Marvelous [Marvin] Harrison. You’re not going to stop those two.

“It won’t even be close. They’re going to destroy Chicago. Destroy Chicago. It won’t even be close.” Sexy Rexy?

And finally

University of Texas forward Kevin Durant told USA Today his inability to jump directly from high school to the NBA turned out to be a good thing.

“I’d have struggled, man. I would have wanted to spend all my money on stupid stuff.... It would have been a disaster.”
