* at St. Louis 7-5, Milwaukee 6-2: Anthony Reyes ended a 12-game regular-season losing streak that began in September, helping the Cardinals complete a sweep of a day-night doubleheader. Ryan Ludwick’s run-scoring single capped a three-run ninth inning against closer Francisco Cordero to give St. Louis the victory in the first game. The Cardinals, who trailed by six runs in the third, mounted their biggest rally since coming from six runs down to beat Milwaukee, 10-6, on June 9, 2006.

* at New York 3-5, Washington 1-6: Ryan Langerhans hit a go-ahead single in the eighth and the Nationals salvaged a split. In the first game, Orlando Hernandez (7-4) threw seven innings for the Mets, who finished the day without two All-Stars. Center fielder Carlos Beltran didn’t play because of a stomach muscle strain, and catcher Paul Lo Duca left the second game because of an injured right hamstring.

* at Houston 3, San Diego 1: Carlos Lee homered for the third time in four games and Roy Oswalt (10-6) outpitched Greg Maddux (7-8) to win for the seventh time in eight starts against the Padres.

* at Arizona 4, Atlanta 3: Juan Cruz (5-1) struck out two of the three batters he faced in the 10th for the victory.

* at San Francisco 4, Florida 3: Barry Bonds went hitless a game after connecting for his 754th home run, leaving him one shy of tying Hank Aaron’s record.

* at Philadelphia 10, Pittsburgh 5: Chris Coste hit a three-run homer, Jimmy Rollins drove in three runs and the Phillies won for the seventh time in eight games.

* Chicago 8, at Cincinnati 1: Alfonso Soriano homered twice and drove in five runs as the Cubs avoided back-to-back losses. They haven’t had consecutive losses for nearly two months.

* at Colorado 6, Dodgers 2: The Dodgers are percentage points ahead of Arizona for the National League West lead.
