Lakers’ increase? That’s rich

$2,300 is almost half of what I paid for my first new car, a Corvette. $2,300 is about 5% of what it once cost me to buy a nice house in Laguna Beach, which later belonged to my first ex-wife. According to the Internet, I could fly around the world today for about half that much. So now I’m supposed to pay $2,300 to sit and watch the Lakers get trounced by Phoenix?

Jim Buss must be trying to surround himself with his intellectual peers, who are the only people (except for Nicholson) likely to spring for what would cover a month’s bar tab for a group of us -- with the remote possibility that someone would get bombed enough to spend $2,300 to attend a Lakers game.

It is unabashed arrogance to raise ticket prices to see a team that won two games more than it lost. It is shameful ignorance to support such arrogance.

So, the Lakers raised ticket prices another 5%. Would it be too much to ask if the team could win 5% more games, discount food concessions 5%, knock 5% off parking, and have Dr. Buss or Mitch Kupchak work 5% faster to construct a workable deal to bring some great players here too?
