Brown’s solid play is one of few positives

Kwame Brown was a picture of soreness and fatigue, with his knees wrapped, one of his calves as well, and his feet planted in a bucket of cold water.

He also happened to be one of the few silver linings in another cloudy day for the Lakers.

With Kobe Bryant suspended again by the league, the Lakers’ 110-90 loss Wednesday to the Milwaukee Bucks was uneventful and predictable except for Brown’s stat line -- 13 points, six rebounds, five-for-eight shooting.

He looked more comfortable on offense than at any other time since his return from a severely sprained ankle.

“Normally, I don’t get the touches, but tonight there were more shots for everybody, so we just tried to work the offense and get it inside,” Brown said.

“When I had opportunities, I was more aggressive tonight than I was in the past.”

He certainly played better than he did Tuesday against Minnesota, when he had two points in 21 minutes and his short jump shot was blocked by Marko Jaric with 6.5 seconds left in regulation.

“I think he’s concerned about getting his shot blocked or someone coming behind him,” Coach Phil Jackson said before Wednesday’s game. “When a guard does it, you’re ultimately embarrassed by that.”

Ronny Turiaf did not play Wednesday because of back spasms.

“I’m feeling better, but there was no way I could play,” he said. “The thought of running into a screen ... “

Turiaf said he hoped to play Friday against Philadelphia.
