Arizona guard is suspended
Arizona reserve guard Daniel Dillon was suspended from competition Wednesday, a day after his arrest on suspicion of drunk driving became public.
He was with the team when it traveled to New Orleans on Wednesday but will not be in uniform when the Wildcats play Purdue on Friday in an opening-round game of the NCAA tournament, the athletic department said.
The school did not say how long the suspension would last.
Dillon, a junior from Australia, was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of speeding and driving under the influence.
Dillon, one of the better defensive players for the Wildcats, is averaging 1.9 points in 11 minutes.
