Youth arrested in fatal stabbing at high school
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Homicide investigators on Saturday arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of fatally stabbing another student a day earlier at Washington Preparatory High School.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies made the arrest at the boy’s home at 3 a.m., Deputy Bill Brauberger said. Authorities found the weapon, apparently a kitchen knife, on the school’s rooftop.
Neither the suspect nor the victim was identified.
The motive appeared to be primarily gang-related, Brauberger said.
