Holiday closures
State courts, including Los Angeles County Superior Court and the appellate court, will be closed today for Cesar Chavez Day. Judges and commissioners, who work for the state, are off, leaving courtrooms closed. Prosecutors, public defenders and their staffs, who are county employees, are expected to work. Federal courts in Los Angeles and Santa Ana and the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Pasadena will remain open.
