Harrison on track to play

Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy said he expected wide receiver Marvin Harrison to play Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Harrison, the franchise’s career receiving leader, has sat out two of the last three games because of a bruised left knee. He didn’t practice Wednesday but was expected to practice today, according to Dungy.

“I think he’ll play [Sunday], but we’ll have to see how it goes.” Dungy said.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Marcus Stroud is reportedly facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s steroids and related substances policy. The Florida Times-Union and WJXL-AM in Jacksonville, citing anonymous sources, said Stroud tested positive for banned supplements.

Stroud is a three-time Pro Bowl player who has 29 tackles and three sacks this season.

On Wednesday, the Jaguars signed defensive tackle Grady Jackson, who was released last week by the Atlanta Falcons

Quarterback Matt Schaub was still feeling the effects of a concussion from a helmet-to-helmet hit last week against the San Diego Chargers, and Coach Gary Kubiak said he probably wouldn’t play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Vinny Testaverde sat out practice because of an injury to his right leg, leaving David Carr as the front-runner to start Sunday at Tennessee. . . . Tarvaris Jackson is in line to return as the Minnesota Vikings’ starting quarterback Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. He suffered a small break on the index finger of his throwing hand Oct. 21. . . . Raiders defensive lineman Tommy Kelly will sit out the remainder of the season because of a torn ligament in his right knee.

Cleveland nose tackle Ted Washington’s season ended when the Browns put the 17-year veteran on injured reserve. . . . San Francisco 49ers kicker Joe Nedney was fined $7,500 by the NFL for making an obscene gesture at his home fans during last week’s game against New Orleans. . . . New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles has a concussion and it was uncertain whether he’ll play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
