Gotta Have Her gave trainer Jenine Sahadi her first stakes victory in two years by winning the $110,000 Harold C. Ramser Handicap for 3-year-old fillies Sunday in the Oak Tree meet at Santa Anita.

After the race, Sahadi started to leave the winner’s circle before someone reminded her she had to stay for photos and interviews.

“I haven’t done this in so long I forgot,” she joked.

The victory was particularly sweet for Sahadi because Gotta Have Her, a daughter of 1990 Breeders’ Cup Mile champion Royal Academy, had a bad trip in her last race, the Del Mar Oaks on Aug. 18, and finished fifth.

Richard Migliore, who rode Gotta Have Her on Sunday and at Del Mar, said, “She’s a classy filly, and Jenine has done a great job with her.”

Of the bad trip at Del Mar, Migliore said, “I was trying to save ground, and we just couldn’t get through.”

Gotta Have Her paid $11.20 to win after going off at 9-2, and her victory was worth $66,360 to owners Richard and Sue Ann Masson.

Silky Smooth, with Aaron Gryder in the saddle, finished second, and Runway Rosie, with Martin Garcia aboard, was third.

Missvinski, the 2-1 favorite, broke last and finished last.

There were no pick six winners Sunday, generating a two-day carry-over of more than $617,000 going into Wednesday’s card.

Trainer Derek Meredith, 57, who suffered a broken leg in a training mishap Sept. 26, was back at the track this weekend.

“I’ll be in a cast for six weeks,” he said.
