Titans...13 Raiders...9
NASHVILLE -- Vince Young looked a little rusty in his first game back from a strained right quadriceps muscle. That was no problem for the Tennessee Titans because he had LenDale White and the defense to help out.
White ran for a career-high 133 yards, Rob Bironas added two field goals and Chris Henry scored a touchdown as the Titans pulled out a 13-9 victory over the Oakland Raiders for their second consecutive victory.
The defense carried most of the load for the Titans (5-2). Tennessee came up with five sacks and two turnovers, the last an interception by Chris Hope with 2:35 left.
Oakland (2-5) lost for the third consecutive time despite getting to the Titans’ 26-yard line in the final minutes.
Albert Haynesworth sacked Daunte Culpepper, who threw wide on third down and watched Mike Williams drop a pass on fourth and 14.
The Raiders hurt themselves with a season-high 14 penalties for 100 yards.
Quoteworthy: “I’m tired of seeing the defense in these situations having to win the game for us.” -- Vince Young, Titans quarterback
