Boy, 14, drowns during swimming class at school

Riverside County sheriff’s officials Saturday were investigating the drowning death of a 14-year-old boy during a swimming class at La Quinta High School.
Cesar Urena of Indio was found at the bottom of the pool Friday about 2:30 p.m., said Sheriff’s Investigator Jerry Franchville. The boy was unresponsive and was rushed to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:07 p.m.
