* at New Mexico 44, New Mexico State 34: Rodney Ferguson had 118 yards rushing and two touchdowns and Donovan Porterie threw for two more scores, lifting the Lobos (1-1) over the Aggies (1-1) at Albuquerque.

* Claremont Mudd 21, at Kenyon College 18: Ryan Larsen threw a 21-yard touchdown passes to Andrew Doyle in the third quarter that proved to be the difference as the Stags (1-0) defeated the Lords (1-1) at Gambier, Ohio.

* at Colorado College 37, Pomona-Pitzer 21: Justin Alexander had 26 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Tigers (1-0) over the Sagehens (0-1) at Colorado Springs.

* Redlands 24, at Whitworth 12: Dan Selway threw a 79-yard touchdown pass to Brian Putnam with 2:47 to play to lift the Bulldogs to the victory at Spokane, Wash. Selway completed 15 of 25 passes for 209 yards. Zack Schafer rushed for 78 yards in 22 carries and had two touchdowns.

* at Puget Sound 21, La Verne 7: James Olcott had two touchdown runs in the first half to lead Puget Sound to the victory at Tacoma, Wash. The Leopards scored their only touchdown with 2:05 left when Troy Doolittle passes three yards to Michael Moreno.

* Occidental 52, at Lewis & Clark 0: Matt Anderson had 96 yards rushing in 19 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Tigers to the rout at Portland, Ore. Quarterback Justin Goltz completed 16 of 19 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown pass as Occidental rolled to a 24-0 halftime lead.

* Pacific Lutheran 48, at Cal Lutheran 17: Brett Gordon completed 22 of 36 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Lutes (1-0) over the Kingsmen (0-1).

* at Chapman 24, Menlo 7: Luke Robinson completed 24 of 36 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Panthers (1-0).
