Mr. Outside

I am a senior at Bonita High, home of the Bearcats and to Glenn Davis. I am certainly among the “few” at our school that know of Davis’ legacy he left behind, and his Heisman displayed in our front office is a testament to his greatness. Thank you, Bill Dwyre [Sept. 18], for the recognition and continuation of a legend not only here at Bonita, but nationwide.

The dedication of Glenn Davis Stadium several years ago was a very touching moment for us. And of course it was my father’s one phobia to have to speak to the crowd from the field. He was extremely nervous. . . but he knew he had to dig deep and get it done (like always). And when he did, the crowd on their feet in the packed bleachers cheered and cheered and we were all thrilled and very proud.
