Man shot by police identified
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office on Friday identified the man who was shot to death by police officers after he was holding a shotgun in Encino.
Eric Lewis Liebowitz, 35, of Encino was fatally shot Tuesday by police after he emerged from his home with a shotgun and pointed it at officers, police said. Liebowitz was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
A shotgun was recovered and evidence suggested that Liebowitz fired at officers, authorities said.
