Man found dead near tennis court
The body of a man investigators say died of trauma to the torso was discovered Wednesday morning near the entrance to a tennis court at a park.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino said someone reported about 6:15 a.m. that a bleeding man was lying on the ground at San Luis Rey Park. The unidentified man was dead when patrol deputies arrived. The victim appeared to be a Latino in his late teens or early 20s, Amormino said.
Investigators think the man was killed late Tuesday night or early Wednesday. Investigators have not determined whether he was killed at the scene or somewhere else, Amormino said. The death marks the city’s third slaying this year.
